Feeling Lost and Uncertain on Your Path to Becoming a Pelvic Health OT?
It's Time to Break Free from Imposter Syndrome and Fragmented Learning - Discover the Comprehensive, Guided Journey to Confidently Treating Pelvic Health Clients in Just 4 Months
As occupational therapy practitioners, we know the importance of specializing in pelvic health to better serve our clients and advance our career.
After all, there is nothing more ADL than bowel, bladder and sexual wellness. And our biopsychosocial background leads to greater breakthroughs with our clients because we see the entire person in front us. We don't practice from a dysfunction forward perspective - we teach our clients how to be the detective of their own body and excel no matter their current limitations.
However, the current landscape of pelvic health education leaves many of us feeling lost, uncertain, and constantly questioning our readiness to take on clients.
The current options are:
- Take courses not designed for OTs (this is what I did when I got started), throw away about 50% of what you learn, and try to adapt the other 50% to the unique OT-led approach.
- Piece together other CEU courses to try and get complete coverage of everything you need to know.
This ad-hoc approach of piecing together courses and resources leads to a fragmented understanding of pelvic health, leaving you with gaps in your knowledge and a persistent fear that you're missing crucial information. This lack of structure and guidance fuels intense imposter syndrome, holding you back from confidently pursuing your passion for pelvic health.
You find yourself stuck in an endless cycle of wondering "what's next?" and doubting whether you're truly prepared to make a difference in your clients' lives. The time and energy spent navigating this uncertain path take away from your ability to focus on honing your skills and building a thriving pelvic health practice.
But what if there was a better way? A comprehensive, guided journey that eliminates the guesswork and provides you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel as a pelvic health OT in just 4 months?
Becoming a Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner™ will give you this and more.
"I was so excited when I discovered Lindsey's courses, taught specifically from an OT perspective, which is what I missed when taking PT-focused pelvic floor courses. Lindsey effortlessly presented the material in an easy to understand, and enjoyable, manner, while instilling confidence in our ability to treat pelvic health clients. Hurray for Lindsey's passionate approach and can-do attitude to OTs addressing pelvic health. I feel like I have my own personal cheerleader when I am taking her class."
Janice Wilson, OTR/L
Let's be honest - a weekend course isn't enough...
There's a reason many feel unprepared after taking just a weekend course.
Learning pelvic health is already like drinking from a firehose, and without structured learning over a sustained period, it is super easy to leave frustrated and doubting your skills.
Trying to master head knowledge, translate theory into practice, and acquire hands-on skills at the same time leaves many feeling like they have 2 left hands when Monday rolls around.
I know I felt that way for many years...
I'd take the best courses in their world (truly they were great) but I always felt like something was missing.
From how the courses were taught, to the length of time I got with the instructor, to the feedback that was given to me, I would leave not feeling confident but overwhelmed with "how much I didn't know."
I've trained over 1,500 OTs in how to specialize in Pelvic Health since 2018 but I knew something needed to change with how we taught Pelvic Health.
And so I went back to the drawing board.
I started to ask myself the question "What truly needs to be taught to OTs, and in what fashion, for them to go from newbie to confident practitioner?"
What should be covered? How should it be taught? What standards should be put in place to ensure competency?
How do we ensure you gain the knowledge, retain the knowledge, and have hands-on practice demonstrating the knowledge?
After all - that's what we all want right?
Confident and compentent OTs in Pelvic Health who are ready to roll up their sleeves and get the best results for their clients.
And I found the solution to helping OTs learn Pelvic Health
OTs crave a well-defined and laid out path to specializing in Pelvic Health. They want to know that what they learn is 100% rooted in the uniqueness of OT from a biopsychosocial. They want to consider the entire person in front of them - not just look at dysfunction.
I found we needed to take a step back and really look at the way OTs are taught from an adult learning perspective.
We need to focus on multi-modal learning. Things like video, case studies, infographics, and hands-ons skill development.
And...we needed there to be time. Time to learn. Time to implement. Time to practice. And time to receive feedback.
So, I decided to create the most thorough and comprehensive training for OTs learning pelvic health to take them from newbie to confident practitioner.
01 — Curriculum
Expand what's normally covered in "intro" courses to make it more comprehensive
- Most intro Pelvic Health courses only cover 50% of the pelvic floor and don't include the colorectal system - but we do!
- Every time we work with the pelvic floor, we work with the nervous system. We are proud that a nervous system first approach is embedded in the fundamental curriculm. You won't find this anywhere else.
- Complete curriculum: from anatomy, to function, to client in-take, to the entire pelvic floor system - we've got you covered.
- A menu of options for the pelvic floor exam. For far too long it was taught that the internal exam was the "gold standard." You'll learn 4 different trauma-informed approaches (with scripts) to step more into the facilitator approach.
02 — Hands-on
Hands-On Techniques Rooted in the Biopsychosocial
- Attend a 3-day in-person lab (in person space is limited and virtual is offered) that's rooted in the biopsychosocial approach.
- Walk away knowing how to confidently assess and treat your clients.
- Learn visceral techniques, uptraining, downtraining, and breath work that integrates seamlessly.
03 — Support
Unparalleled Support, Feedback and Skills Assessment
- We step into adult learning: support over 4 months (instead of just 2 days) so you learn the concepts, practice them, and come back with questions leading to confident mastery.
- And, you need knowledge quizzes along the way so you know exactly what areas are going well and were to work on enhancements.
- Finally, a skills based assessment so you know with confidence you've mastered the skills to start seeing clients confidently.
Lindsey was a phenomenal educator and I knew her manual lab would be exceptional (and it was!!!!). I was, initially, nervous to take this lab because I thought I'd be in a room full of pelvic health OTs that were more advanced in their career than me...but I was WRONG! All of the providers that took this course were on my level, and those that were above, were SO helpful and so great to learn from. I loved the structure of the lab, with majority actually being so hands on, with so much practice to learn from. Lisa did a phenomenal job of keeping us interested, engaged, and motivated! If you're on OT considering taking this lab, DO IT. I walked out of this lab actually FEELING confident and knowledgeable enough to take on my FIRST pelvic floor patient.. and that is incredible for me!!!

Emerge as a Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner™
I am an OT with 5+ years in pediatrics. Having become more involved in infant development and providing therapy services for babies, my eyes have been opened to the gaps in holistic care for their mothers' and have seen firsthand how mom's wellbeing comes second to everything else. This got me interested in pelvic health, which, upon talking to peers, everyone pointed my to Lindsey and The Functional Pelvis. I jumped in without hesitation and have no regrets! I cannot recommend this class enough for those who are new and interested in pelvic health!

How does the Level 1 training work?
The Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner™ program runs 4.5 months and is a combination of online course modules, knowledge quizzes, bi-weekly lives with Lindsey focusing on case-studies, a 3-day lab (in-person or virtual), and a skills-based assessment at the end to earn your Level 1 designation.
It takes you from complete newbie to confident pelvic health OT within this 4.5-month span. You'll gain all the skills and confidence you need to treat pelvic health clients.
How much time do I need to dedicate each week?
Plan on dedicating 3 - 4 hrs/week. Each week new content is dripped for you to watch and learn. There is no more than 2.5 hrs of content dripped each week. We will have live calls on a bi-weekly basis for an additional 1 hour of learning on those weeks.
If this seems like a lot to you, remember that the online content is there to watch when you are free. You can binge it all at once or watch it in small doses throughout the week.
And in just 4.5 months you'll be treating pelvic health clients confidently.
Is Level 1 the same as OT Pioneers?
No. The Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner Progam is more comprehensive than OT Pioneers. OT Pioneers is part of the Level 1 curriculum but it isn't all of it. Level 1 takes it to the next level (pun intended!) by requiring not only beginner knowledge (OT Pioneers) but intermediate (OT Elevate), guided mentorship over 4.5 months, a hands-on lab, and a skills based assessment.
What are the requirements to earn the Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner designation?
To earn the ability to call yourself a Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner™ you need to enroll into the Level 1 program, complete all the lessons, pass the embedded knowledge quizzes, join the 3-day lab (in-person or virtual) and pass the skills-based assessment at the end.
Only those who complete these requirements will earn the Level 1 Certificate and the ability to call and market themselves as a Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner™.
When and where is the in-person lab?
The in-person lab is restricted to 40 participants due to the room size. You have the choice of attending either in-person or virtually. Once all the in-person seats are filled the only option will be to attend virtually.
Here are the details for the in-person lab:
The lab is 3 full days on Thursday, Nov. 12th - Saturday, Nov. 14th.
The approximate start and end times on these days will be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. It will take place in Cleveland, Ohio, in a suburb called Lakewood.
The closest airport is Cleveland International Airport, which is just 15 minutes from our lab location!
The lab is taught by the amazing Lisa Loveless
About Lisa: Lisa graduated in 1996 with her Occupational Therapy degree, and what a fun ride it has been. She has had the opportunity to practice in numerous settings and has grown OT programs in NICUs, homecare, rehab, and most recently, pelvic health settings. Her most fulfilling work has been those times where she has been able to empower newer therapists and clients to find their groove.
In 2019, she founded Next Level Therapy (NLT), where she transitioned to practicing pelvic health with all genders. NLT is a successful cash-based practice with two locations in Northeast Ohio.
Through a combination of manual techniques, corrective exercise, and mind-body training, she has had the honor of watching clients return to their valued activities of daily living.
She is a lifelong learner and is currently working on her certifications for Trauma-Informed Pelvic Health Practitioner and Pelvic Health Sexual Counseling.
It was her honor to teach a visceral skills lab at the 2023 Pelvic Health Summit. Her passions include running and cycling, and her favorite times include those with her husband and daughter.
When is the virtual lab?
The virtual hands-on lab takes place November 9th and 10th. The virtual lab instructor is the same as the in-person instructor: Lisa Loveless, OTR/L.
We have chosen to have the virtual lab on different days than the in-person lab so that you can be assured that you get all the attention you need. Additionally, we keep a very small TA to student ratio for the virtual lab to make sure that you are placed in a small group setting with dedicated support.
What if I fall behind schedule?
Level 1 is a 4.5 month long program with 6 weeks of breaks scheduled in. If you fall behind, you can use those breaks to catch up.
If you fall further behind and are not able to complete the requirements by the end of the cohort then you'll need to pay and register for a future cohort.
Who is allowed to use the Level 1 designation?
The Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner™ is trademarked to The Functional Pelvis and is its sole intellectual property owner.
Only those who have completed the entire curriculum of Level 1 and passed the skills-based assessment are allowed to call themselves a Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner™. This ensures that the designation denotes a high-quality standard that The Functional Pelvis can attest to.
I've already taken OT Pioneers and/or OT Elevate - what are my options?
If you've already taken OT Pioneers and/or OT Elevate then the best option for you is to do the bridge program.
What's the bridge program?
The bridge program allows you to register for the Level 1 Program but at a discounted rate. The discounted rate will take into account what you paid already for eligible courses:
- OT Pioneers
- OT Elevate
- The 2 day lab
Please reach out to me via email and tell me the email address you used to purchase any of those previous courses.
I will then generate a custom coupon code for you which will deduct how much you paid for any (or all) of those previous courses.
Please note: if you've previously taken OT Pioneers or OT Elevate you still need to complete the entire Level 1 curriculum and pass the skills-based assessment to be able to graduate with the Level 1 designation. This is to ensure we are sticking by the Level 1 standard and that you can demonstrate that you pass the requirements.
When are the calls?
The calls take place on Thursday's at 12pm EST. These calls are recorded so you have the option of watching the replay if you aren't able to join live. Please refer to the schedule higher up on this page for the dates of the calls.
Do you offer CEUs?
You betcha!
The Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner™ program comes with AOTA CEU approval of 5.1 CEUs (51 contact hours).
What's your refund policy?
Like all my courses, I offer a 30 day full money back guarantee! If you decide it isn't for you, just drop me an email before 30 days and I'll refund 100% of the money you've paid. I really try to take the risk of out it for you just to give it a try.
What if I'm not yet ready to commit to Level 1?
If you are interested in exploring if pelvic health is for you but don't want to commit to the entire Level 1 program then I recommend you get started with the self-paced OT Pioneers course. It doesn't come with the support calls, the knowledge quizzes, the lab, or the designation, but it is a great way to "dip your toes" into the waters of pelvic health.
Then, if you get bit by the pelvic health bug and want to enroll in the Level 1 program you can join us in the next cohort and I'll deduct your OT Pioneers fee from the tuition for Level 1.
Is there a Level 2 after Level 1?
You bet!
After completing Level 1, I recommend that you enroll into Level 2 which is a Trauma-Informed Pelvic Health Certification.
The future of pelvic health is being trauma-informed. If you are working with pelvic floor therapy clients then you are working with clients who have experienced some type of trauma.
We owe it to our clients to be able to confidently work in a trauma-informed way and Level 2 is an intensive mentorship in incorporating trauma-informed care into your pelvic health practice.
Plus, taking Level 2 is a prerequisite to become a Certified Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner™ - which is the ONLY certification for OTs in pelvic health that is rooted in the OT practice framework.
Can I take Level 2 at the same time as Level 1?
Absolutely!
If you are ready to dive in completely then there's no reason to delay and you can do the two program at the same time (pending enrollment dates).
Of course, your weekly time committment will go up, but if you have the bandwidth then there's no reason to delay.
Ready to gain the confidence to work with pelvic health clients?
If you've read this far, then I'm willing to guess that the idea of working with pelvic health clients excites you. And I want you feeling 100% confident and competent.
Becoming a Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner™ will take you from a newbie to confident practitioner in just 4.5 months.
Enrollment only happens this week!
