Let’s explore the word mood. We know that 1 in 7 new mothers experience “postpartum depression.” Society has slowly begun to normalize sad (and even anxiety), but mad is still taboo. No one knows what to do with an angry woman, let alone an angry mother.
Come join us for a lively evening with author Molly Caro May. She will read from her new book Body Full of Stars: Female Rage and My Passage Into Motherhood. Afterwards, a moderated panel of experts will have a dynamic discussion on the following: how anger is placed i,l;l/monal gateways crack us open, is there such thing as sacred rage, how does this issue affect people across class and race, what is self-care versus external support, how do the pelvis and moods relate to one another, how does postpartum rage speak to our current American conversation about female rights?
