Come enjoy an afternoon of felting! We will be creating either a simple mobile or a simple toy for your toddler.
You will leave with all the equipment you need to create your own felting projects!
What is Needle Felting?
If you've ever shrunk a wool sweater in the wash, you've already (accidentally) felted. Felting is actually the oldest human textile and is linked with women’s entrepreneurship. It's simple, and wonderfully repetitive in that perfect mindless, meditative way. Plus it's super low maintenance, so you can pick it up and put it down as you please.
Kendra Keller, Artist
Kendra is an artist increasingly entangled with felt as her primary medium. Her interest in the relationship between body, psychology, and art has led her deeper into the world of felt, a material of great use and sociological significance. In the context of feltmaking, "felt" is both a noun and a verb (not to mention the past tense and past participle of feel). This linguistic coincidence gets at the nature of the artist's work. Kendra lives with her husband in Brooklyn, where she recently gave birth to their son.
