THE PELVIC FLOOR IS JUST LIKE ANY OTHER MUSCLE IN THE BODY...

...it needs to have full range of motion in order to function properly.  If you injured the bicep muscle in your arm, you would re-learn how to flex and extend it so that you could quickly become functional again. The same concepts apply to your pelvic floor. In order for you to be able to give birth, have control over urine and bowel movements, be able to participate fully (and comfortably) with sexuality, you need to be able to access the floor's full range of motion.

It is not normal to lose control of urine or bowel movements...even after you've had your baby. At The Functional Pelvis, Inc, we can help you regain control of your pelvic floor leading to feeling empowered once again and able to fully participate in your life.

How We Can Help:

  • Behavioral and lifestyle modifications to assist in retraining pelvic muscles
  • Biofeedback:  a painless process that uses small sensors and a computer monitor to help you visualize and identify correct muscle activity. This helps you to gain awareness of proper muscle contraction and relaxation in order to maximize exercise technique.
  • Information and education regarding anatomy, diet, and personal care
  • Pelvic floor exercises to optimize proper function
